This seventh keyboard concerns the search for a keyboard with a reactive and pleasant touch!
After a search for quality, ergonomics, silence, you can only end up on a mechanical keyboard.
The best keyboard of that time was the DAS Keyboard
It is beautiful, racy, the keys are mechanical, it has a hub on the side, in short: it gets closer to perfection… but it has a big flaw… that I explain you later, but photos first!
This keyboard is the first mechanical keyboard I’ve had, it has brown switches.
You will find a very precise explanation of “what are switches and why keyboards with mechanical switches are better on all points”.
What are the problems of the DAS Keyboard that made me change it?
- It’s very heavy. Indeed, each press of key is sent in the shell of the keyboard, which echoes the noise on the support on which is the keyboard. My desktop is made of wood, the sound of my keyboard was amplified and distorted, which made the keyboard unpleasant to use over time; the Ergofip doesn’t have this problem: its feet are studied so that they dont transmit the sound to the support on which it is.
- It is not ergonomic at all. After having tested the “curvy” or “curved” keyboard, and noticed how nice it was to have an ergonomic keyboard, I no longer like using “straight” keyboards. The Ergofip is based on the Ergodox (everything is explained here), as it adapts to the position of your hand.
- It is not programmable. Not at all. The positions of the keys of the French keyboards are not adapted to our language (it is surprising but true to such a point that the French government has recently asked for a reform on the keyboard and the position of the keys).
The Ergofip is fully programmable: you put the letters you want on the keys you want, in order to make you faster and more efficient, whether at work or in the professional world..
