Story #9: the NOVATouch: 60%: excellent touch
Massdrop is a site that sells specialized products for enthusiasts: this is why it is specialized in three main fields: keyboards, photography and gaming. That’s where I found the NOVATouch Keyboard
I bought there the NOVATouch TKL. Keyboard with excellent touch, it is considered a “mechanical keyboard”. Why considered? Because its switches are topre which means “electrostatic capacitive non-contact keyboard switch” (you can find the whole explanation here).
Everything’s fine: touch, sound, weight, responsiveness, but it’s still lacking something … it’s only 60 %: it does not have a numeric keypad, and it’s not programmable. The Ergofip is fully programmable (you put the letters you want on the keys you want, in order to make you faster and more efficient, whether at home or in the professional world)..
You will find a very precise explanation here of what electrostatic switches are, and why mechanical keyboards, including this one, are better than “rubber dome” keyboards.
It is not for those who like “clicky” keyboards.
Personally I like that, but people who like mechanical keyboards talk about “soft”, or “jelly” (jelly), because they feel like Cherry MX brown minus “clicky”.
Summary: everything’s fine but it’s not actually “clicky”, it’s 60% and it’s not programmable
The Ergofip is fully programmable (you put the letters you want on the keys you want, in order to make you faster and more efficient, whether at home or in the professional world). Moreover,
It is possible to configure it as you want very quickly..
